Beth Lusk

I have worked in the field of social care for the last 20 years and have a wealth of experience in this area relating to trauma and loss, child mental health, adoption, adult disability and ill health. I have 6 years of experience as a therapist with adults and young people (age 11 and up) as well as having worked in a mental health setting for the NHS for 2 years.

My therapeutic approach is ‘Integrative’, which means I use aspects of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy,  Humanist, Systemic and Psychodynamic models of understanding behaviour and change.

Life can feel really hard at times and there are times when talking with friends and family doesn’t feel as useful as we might hope. Talking in confidence with a therapist can be a powerful way of making sense of our life and getting in touch with who we really are or really want to be. Getting counselling is a brave step in the direction of personal growth and change. Admitting that you’d like things to be different and taking positive action to make change happen takes real courage. I believe that therapy creates a unique opportunity for exploration and discovery and can be one of the most meaningful endeavours we embark on.
