Gemma Batchelor

I appreciate taking the first steps into counselling can be overwhelming, confusing, and scary. But if you’ve recognised you may need help with an issue then I also appreciate the bravery it takes to make those first steps. I don’t promise anything in my counselling; I can’t guarantee it will be pleasant or fluffy, it can be confronting and challenging, but it can also be laughter and breakthroughs. Each person is unique and will come with their own personality, challenges and life experiences. My role is not to heal, but to sit with, listen and empower you to draw upon your resources (of which there will be many!) to begin to make positive change or enable understanding. This is done by drawing upon my skills as an integrative counsellor combined with your input and knowledge to find ways of working together that suit you.

My special areas of interest are neurodivergence and sexual violence and abuse; I am a passionate advocate for bringing awareness and education to both issues.
